Free Crochet Patterns: Women's

Women love to crochet, and fortunately, many of today's modern styles embrace the delicate look of crochet. From shawls and scarves to gorgeous skirts, dresses, and bikinis, there really isn't anything that women can wear that can't be crocheted. Here are some of the best sites that offer free crochet patterns on the web. However, it is important to realize that if you find a pattern for free, and decide that you would like to sell the crochet item, you may be violating the designer's copyrights. Therefore, it is always a good idea to contact the designer and determine their policy on selling crocheted items crafted from their patterns.

If you find a pattern that you absolutely adore yet you can't find the designer, your best bet would be to create your own original pattern. Copyright is a tricky subject, but the ground rules are pretty simple, and first of all, you can't copyright an idea or formula. If you like a pattern, don't try to sell the same pattern and violate crochet copyrights. Use that as a starting point to inspire your own ideas and creativity and soon, you will find that creating your own original crochet patterns is easy.

Groovy crochet was an awesome website, that is now defunct. It had some of the most amazing crochet patterns from the 60's and 70's. Since these styles have been the rage recently, it is a shame that Groovy Crochet is off line. However, all is not lost. The wonderful patterns are still available through a great site called, Web Archive. These patterns will be accessible on Fun Crochet through the wonderful services of Web Archive. If you see, GC, after a pattern, you will know that it came from the Groovy Crochet website.
